Our Team

  • Michael Schaffer

    Our founding engineer, Michael was previously a Software Engineer at Google, and an instructor at Medgar Evers College. He has been mentoring high-school robotics teams since 2017, and developed the first prototype of Brainybot in response to the needs of those schools.

  • Henry Wang

    Henry is a former product manager who more recently taught high-school math at Academy of the Pacific Rim in Boston. As our founding educator, he designed the curriculum for the first version of Brainybot, and works with educators to improve the product and bring it to more classrooms.

  • Nabira Ahmad

    In addition to coaching the robotics team at Martin Van Buren High School in Queens, Nabira coordinates all the other after-school teams at high schools around NYC. She studies Computer Science at NYU Tandon.

  • Chris Ho

    Chris is an NYU student who founded and currently coaches the NHRL Robot Combat team at The Brooklyn School for Math and Research. He is studying electrical engineering and competes on the NYU Robomaster team.

  • Shaur Kumar

    Shaur joined ASR as its first-ever coach in the Spring of 2022. He has helped Science Skills Center High School compete at both NHRL and FIRST competitions. He is an undergrad at NYU majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Gayatri Tyagi

    Gayatri is studying Computer Science at NYU, and graduates in 2024. She coaches the NHRL Combat Robotics team at The High School for Youth and Community Development in Brooklyn.
